have you ever heard about Thingyan? Probably not, but how about Songkran? Does this sound more familiar to you? As the much more popular Thai New Years Festival, thinbgyan is the Burmese version of it. Unlike than Thailand, where everyone is equipped with a huge water gun and the festival looks more like a big water battle, things are slightly different in Myanmar.
